Lamb steak au poivre

We were meant to dine out at Gordon Ramsay’s York and Albany tonight. I cancelled our dinner reservations because (a) hubby was busy prepping the garden for the big levelling tomorrow and (b) there was the small matter of a certain world cup match on the telly. So I resigned myself to yet another Saturday night in the sticks. Thanks to Ina Garten’s Barefoot in Paris, I ‘transported’ us to a bistro in Paris, so all was not lost. Ina has a lovely Steak au poivre recipe in the said cookbook, which I modified slightly.

Well, it wasn’t Gordon Ramsay’s but this dish made a nice Saturday night-in dinner, served with a lovely glass of wine.
