Neuschwanstein and Fussen

If anyone stopping by this blog has a good command of German, can you tell me how to pronounce Neuschwanstein (castle) and Fussen (I’m not sure how to type out the intonations here -it’s a town close to the castle)? We might be planning a trip soon and would be grateful for travel tips.

  1. Neuschwanstein is pronounced “Noi-shvaan-shtaeen”, or [nɔʏˈʃvaːnʃtaɪn]) in phonetic lingo;-)

Füssen is pronounced Füssen, you just have to manage the Umlaut Ü…

As for travel tips, I’m german and have never been there myself…

    Cheers,
