I was keen to get stuck into Bill’s Basics. Hubby really liked the plum and blueberry pudding we sampled at Bill Granger’s cooking demonstration at Waterstones, so that’s what we had for dessert tonight, served with single cream. The recipe in Bill’s Basics uses peaches.
The blueberries and plums worked well together, and the lemon zest added a nice zing to the dish. The cake was very light and sweet, a perfect contract to the slightly tart fruits. Definitely one to re-visit, perhaps with peaches, nectarines, or figs next time.
