Stavros’ choice

Hubby and I were in Dublin last weekend for a friend’s wedding.  We decided to make a long weekend of it, and so we took Friday and Monday off work.  Apart from the wedding, the highlight of our trip was catching up with our young friend Stavros, his parents J & T, feline and canine siblings R & H, all of whom we’re very fond of.  I was dying to try Bill Granger’s new book, and so I offered to cook dinner on Friday night at our friends’ place.  Apart from creating a big mess in the kitchen, which J kindly cleaned up, the food turned out well so credit to Bill Granger once again.

On the menu for the night was Lemon Chicken, fishcakes, broccoli and carrot stir-fry, omelette, steamed rice and for dessert, Plum and blueberry pudding.

The recipe for fishcakes is as per Bill’s Basics.

Here’s what we had for dinner. No photos of the pudding, but it wasn’t too dissimilar to what I attempted last week in my own kitchen.

Fishcakes

Lemon chicken

Broccoli and carrot stir-fry

Thanks for a brilliant night, guys. Look forward to catching up soon.
