On our first evening in North Cornwall, Hubby and I went for a spin to nearby Bude. I’d read about a restaurant by Summerleaze beach called Life’s a Beach and was keen to check it out. We didn’t have a table booked, but the friendly waitress said we were more than welcome to pick a table on the verandah. The evening was clear and we caught the last of the evening sun whilst tucking into our meal.
The menu itself is rather short. I was hungry but couldn’t find anything on the menu that tickled my tastebuds, so I settled for a starter portion of Cornish Crab and Linguine and a portion of wedges. My favourite crab linguine remains the one I had at Kailis Brothers, Leederville, Perth.
Hubby had their sirloin steak with vine tomatoes, wedges and stuffed mushrooms with bernaise sauce. He really enjoyed his meal and I had to remind him not to display his food pleasure too much as the poor pregnant woman was hungry with a bad case of heartburn and all that can make it go away is a good bowl of porridge.
It was getting a bit chilly by the time we finished our meal. We opted out of having a dessert, paid the bill which came to about £30 for the above, plus a bottle of sparkling water and left to catch the sun set.
Check out their website and remember to reserve a table ahead of time. It’s a nice little spot to enjoy your food, friendly service and breathtaking views.
