Cheese and olive spelt crackers

I enjoy savoury treats more than I do sweet ones.   When I saw a recipe for Cheesy Whole wheat Ranch Crackers over at A Healthy Slice of Life, I knew I had to give it a go.  I had spelt flour in my pantry, so I used this instead of whole wheat flour, with 1/2 tsp of baking powder.  Before the dough was rolled out, I added a handful of finely chopped pitted black olives to it.  I used a pastry cutter (1.5″ diameter) and the recipe yielded around 22 crackers.  I baked them for 15 minutes in a pre-heated oven at 200 degrees Celsius.

The bear is far too young for these, so Hubby and I tucked in and washed them down with beer.  It almost feels like date night. 🙂

Thank you Brittany at A Healthy Slice of Life for sharing her recipe.
